Specialties

Sarah’s interest in Chinese Medicine was sparked through her own health journey. After a Traumatic Brain Injury and several years battling Long Covid symptoms, she knows what it’s like to move through the world with an invisible disability and to have symptoms minimized and shoved aside by Medical Doctors. During the course of her training at Jung Tao, she was also able to study outside of class with two mentors in Boone, NC, Burton Moomaw and Theo Copley. These mentors studied extensively with Ann Cecil Sterman, author of Advanced Acupuncture; a clinical manual, in the lineage of Jeffery Yuen, an 88th Generation Daoist Master. Sarah’s study of the Compliment Channels has allowed her to work with folks with debilitating and difficult to treat chronic illnesses such as Uterine Fibroids, IBS, Chronic Fatigue, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Systemic Fungal Infections, ALS, & Long Covid. She’d be thrilled to help untangle the symptoms your doctors think are mysterious and might all just be in your head.

Acupuncture is an Ancient healing modality that is over three thousand years old. It involves the stimulation of specific points on the body via the insertion of fine needles or the application of heat or friction to bring balance to the body’s systems. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural healing ability, easing pain of the body and/or the spirit. In addition to needles, your acupuncturist may also use the following during your treatment:

  • Moxabustion (a lit mugwort cigar used to warm points or areas of pain)

  • Guasha (scraping the skin using a tool over oil)

  • Tuina (Chinese medical massage).
